I don’t claim to be fashionable, browsing the net for the latest catwalk trends and looks isn’t me. Don’t get me wrong, I like to dress nicely, I just have no interest in spending a fortune on brand names and “hot right now” items. However, you don’t need to be Vivienne Westwood to pass judgement on some styles. This is a list of fashion. fails I’ve seen whilst out and about in the last few weeks. Here’s hoping they enlighten you to change your ways!
Leggings Are NOT Trousers
People who wear leggings as trousers, why do you do it? They are flimsy, light and see through! They are designed to be worn with long tops or tunic like ones. In essence, you should wear them with something which actually covers your bum. Wearing normal length tops with leggings not only looks ridiculous, we can see your knicker line, or worse, your wedgie. Some girls even wear coloured undies with black leggings so we can see them even better! It’s a trashy look and we can see way too much. Stop it.
Pudding Bowl Haircuts
Not a clothing issue, but a faux pas none the less. It wasn’t fashionable in the 90’s and its not now. It doesn’t suit anyone, whether it’s your first day at school or you’re middle-aged. Grow it out!
Everyone Loves A Cowboy…
To laugh at that is. You could get away with this if you live in Texas USA, but not in England. Sure, it’s quirky, but it’s also just a tad odd and unnerving. Norfolk may be farmland, but we have tractors, not horses and ranches. This look doesn’t fit in. Also, leather waist coats are a no-no.
I feel like this one doesn’t need an explanation.
Badly Fitting Clothes and Too Shiny
I could have split this into two individual points but I saw something which supported them both in one, so here it is.
His suit is clearly one or two sizes too small and the fact it’s shiny only highlights this even more. It’s awful!
People should wear whatever makes them feel comfortable, but they should also be aware that sometimes, just because it feels safe, it doesn’t mean it’s a good look. I have, and do, and will, get it wrong from time to time. No one can look 100% at all times, but if you avoid some of the more obvious fashion faux pas, you can feel confident in the fact you aren’t looking that bad!
