Out With The Old And In With The New: Happy New Year!

It’s the end of the year, the Christmas rush is over, people are slowing down and thinking of their New Years Eve plans. Not only are people party planning for the strike of midnight, they are also thinking about what the next year will have in store for them and what they plan on achieving and doing over the next 12 months.

No Resolutions

I’ve never made New Years resolutions, never seen the point. They seem to be things people make and fail to keep after two weeks. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink regularly, I don’t splash out too much money on stuff I don’t need. I could probably do with shifting the Christmas podge but that’s not a priority. Instead, I have ideas for what I want to do or achieve, not resolutions to keep. I would like to have X amounts of posts and X amount of traffic a week on this website, I want to save enough money for a weekend away, want to actually put a few days aside to visit the friends I failed to see last year, learn to cook a larger range of better food..! There is a difference in setting yourself goals and having ideas about how you want things to go. If resolutions work for you then I wish you all the best with them!

Farewell To Another Year

By this time each year, most people feel slow, there is almost a mental block. You know you are only days or weeks away from a New Year, which brings with it the prospect of new, fun and prosperous new adventures and opportunities. A chance to wipe the slate clean and carry on onwards and upwards. Of course it doesn’t always work out like that but people like the idea of a fresh start that the turn of a year gives. It’s phycology! As good and exciting as it is to look forward to the start of a new year, be sure to reflect on the past one, learn from your mistakes, laugh at and be thankful for the good times, try not to regret too much of the bad times. It’s important to take the good and bad experiences with you, otherwise you will never learn important lessons and you can’t know one without the other.

I wish you a very Happy New Year!
